WHAT DOES ‘WOMAN OF VALUE’ MEAN TO YOU?
How could a woman not be of value? In the world, the feminine isn’t valued. But, we are valued inherent in who we are and how we are born. We’re here to reestablish what it is to be a woman.
I had two defining moments. I grew up in Chicago. I was born with confidence. But, I didn’t truly love myself, because I didn’t know what that was. I checked all the achiever boxes. I had all the things, even engagement. At age 33, my wakeup call came via my fiancé on the way to our engagement party. How did I end up here? Our idea of life was very different. I got quiet, and my inner wisdom voice said, you have self esteem, but you don’t love yourself. Not only did I almost marry the wrong guy, but I also almost ended up with the wrong love. I promised to never settle for less than my heart and soul desired.
For people who are over busy, over doing, it does not favor feminine wisdom. Feminine and masculine power are connected to yin and yang. We have feminine and masculine power. We need to value both. We are fierce and grace. We’re often scared of slowing down. I watch the tide ebb and flow every day. We need to ebb, to slow down in order to be less stressed.
YOUR ‘AHA’ WOMAN OF VALUE MOMENT
In 2008, my husband had left his corporate job, and he couldn’t manifest his new career. He tried to be my assistant, but that didn’t work at all. We didn’t like each other for three weeks. I was thinking, ‘What’s wrong with him that he can’t manifest his career?’
One of the things I love about my husband is he’s very kind. I was sitting across the living room from him, and I thought, “I value my ability to achieve more than I value Noah’s ability to nurture. Wow, what does that say about my value system, and the value system we’re imprinted with?” That was a big aha moment for me.
HOW DO YOU HELP PEOPLE SUSTAIN CHANGE?
I believe in making things simple and significant. We need to be connected to our intuition, our deeper wisdom. Our intuition needs to be cultivated daily. How do you begin and end every day? Connect to yourself and others. Ask yourself, What do I need to receive today?
And remember…you can’t do it all yourself. You need support, a guide, and a community.
THE LIGHTNING ROUND
- I used to think I wasn’t doing enough.
- What was the #1 thing holding you back from becoming a woman
of value? Being willing to go deeper into my heart beyond all the walls I put up.
- What’s the best advice you can give to a woman who wants to
become more empowered? Know your heart, it’s your power center.
- What advice would you give to your younger self? Stay awake. I woke up later in life.
- What’s something people get wrong about you? In the past, people believed I didn’t need support. I wouldn’t be who I am without my support system.
- How would you like to be remembered? As someone who deeply cared.
