WHAT DOES WOMAN OF VALUE MEAN TO YOU?
I can spot one when I see one. She knows her core principles, who she is and what she believes in. She does the right thing, especially when no one is looking.
YOUR ‘AHA’ WOMAN OF VALUE MOMENT OF FINDING FULFILLMENT IN BUSINESS AND LIFE
I remember that vulnerable time in life right before college when I was discovering who I was and what I wanted to major in. After four years of college, I realized there was more to me than met the eye, so I began to discover what that was.
I moved to Boston for grad school by myself. I learned who I was. I started with a program in communications and broadcasting at grad school. I learned so much about myself, and I gained confidence by making decisions, understanding budget, and putting myself in uncomfortable situations.
THE PRESENT – FULFILLMENT IN BUSINESS
Worked in corporate America for over twenty years, and then I got back to media, starting a TV show on Business and Life, about the intersection of business and life, leadership. I’m also doing a podcast. As a woman in media that ties into issues of body image.
THE FUTURE
I want people to find success based on their own definition. Only YOU can set expectations for yourself and your success. Teach our youth the skillset of self-confidence and self-worth.
THE LIGHTNING ROUND
- I used to think I wasn’t bold enough.
- What was the #1 thing holding you back from becoming a woman
of value? Being younger and not knowing myself or having perspective. - What’s the best advice you can give to a woman who wants to
become more empowered? Drop the excuses and acknowledge that there are some things holding you back. Face those. Go back to self trust, self power, and self belief to take action.
- What advice would you give to your younger self? Develop a master plan for your body, brain and spirit. Keep yourself healthy, make sure you’re working your brain, and take the time to be spiritual.
- What’s something people get wrong about you? People are intimidated by me because of my successes. But I’m really a warm loving person.
- How would you like to be remembered? As someone who gave her all, did her best, and was kind.
