At age 30, having just given birth to twin boys, Louise H. Reid felt lost and alone. She had a seemingly ‘perfect’ life, having achieved everything she thought she wanted—a wonderful career, husband, and three children. This was the starting point of a 10-year journey back to herself.
Louise has now designed a life of purpose, passion and joy. She helps women do the same. Women who desire career success AND personal happiness; women who are striving for excellence AND fulfillment. Known as “The Ladyboss Coach”, Louise also consults in the corporate world teaching leaders to lead from the inside out. She’s the host of the podcast, The Louise H. Reid Show (you can check out my guest appearance here), and she’s a wife and proud mother to four teenage boys.

Louise H. Reid – Designing a Life Of Purpose, Passion and Joy
2:49: Louise shares her aha moment when she stepped into her value. “After the birth of my twins (babies #2 and #3), I realized I had never imagined my life PAST this point. I had achieved everything I had set out to achieve (career, kids, marriage, house, etc.) and yet I was lost, unhappy and uncertain what to do next. I did know that standing still was not an option. That started my 10 year journey of ‘finding my way back to me.'”
She had been misaligned as a people pleaser, starting with her childhood. She got attention for being a ‘good girl’ and made choices in adulthood from this place. Can you relate?
Married with four kids to a very nice guy, at 30, she wondered why she was so miserable even though she supposedly had everything she wanted in her life.
7:04: Louise talks about how she found her soul’s yearning.
13:30: She shares a great tool to uncover your top five values. Once she discovered her core values, she had a powerful conversation with her mom about a misunderstanding around values.
21:15: Here’s another exercise, which includes a Venn diagram to help you find your passion and purpose.
34:20 Find out why one of Louise’s favorite quotes (and mine, too) is, “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom”, by Anais Nin,
35:50 This is what Louise is creating in the world today: An international coaching business for women at a crossroads in life. She is also the host of the Louise H. Reid show. And she’s writing a book.
39:11 I ask Louise the meaning behind her tattoos. Such cool stories!
48:20 Listen to her surprising answer to my question, “I never thought I was ___________ enough” and why she felt that way. We end up laughing about something we have in common and didn’t know it!
56:12: Some of Louise’s favorite books:
1. You Are a Badass, by Jen Sincero
2. The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are, by Brene Brown
3. Big Miracles: The 11 Spiritual Rules for Ultimate Success, by Joanna Garzilli
Louise also loves a quote by Meghan Markle in response to the Time’s Up movement: “Women ‘don’t need to find a voice’, but they need to be ‘encouraged to use it’, and people must listen.” I couldn’t agree more!
